How AI jewelry identification works

How accurate is AI jewelry identification?

Accuracy depends on what you are asking and how good the photo is. Broad questions, such as whether a piece looks like yellow gold or a white metal, or whether a red stone is more likely ruby or garnet, are answered well from a clear photo. Fine distinctions, such as natural versus lab-grown, or 14K versus 18K without a hallmark, cannot be settled by any photo, and JewelCheck will say so rather than pretend.
